Half Moon Bay to Santa Barbara (and beyond)
I now know the answer to “can I do a 360 mile day in the Atom?”. I can, but I sort of look like a lobster, I’m sore, and I’m in a low-grade motel in Carpenteria. Apparently some school sports function has all the rooms booked for 50 miles up and down the coast from Santa Barbara.
Only one picture from today’s journey, at Carmel-by-the-sea (I think).
See you all in Huntington Beach / Newport Beach tomorrow!

Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow in Huntington Beach. I drove a Lotus Elise around the block today and all I could think about was you driving an Atom Across America – WOW!!! You are going to love Crystal Cove on Saturday morning.

Wow! 360 miles in an Atom… I’m impressed! Any chance you could add a “total mileage” at the top of each of your updates? It will be fun to watch the numbers climb!

Terri:
The photographs are wonderful, your descriptions of the stages, evocative. I just hope you don’t bliss yourself out! 🙂

A mileage counter for each blog post would be pretty cool if you could pull that off…

I am awed by your resolve. I did Seattle to Ashland, 478 miles (8 hours) one day last year (August). I spent one day with the guys @ Brammo, then drove back to Seattle. You guessed it (478 miles) in 7.5 hours. I had to pick up my wife from the airport. That was I-5 all the way and not too interesting. Your trip sounds tremendous. Safe travels!
